The ingredients needed to make Curd Rice:
  1. Take 1 Cup cooked rice
  2. Make ready 1 Cup Curd
  3. Prepare 1/4 Cup Milk
  4. Make ready 2 tsp Ghee
  5. Prepare 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  6. Take 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  7. Get 1 tsp Channa dal
  8. Make ready 1 Red chilli
  9. Make ready 1 String Curry leaves

  12. Take 1 Finely chopped onion
  13. Take Pinch Hing
  14. Take 1/4 cup Broken cashews
  15. Take 1/4 cup Raisins
  16. Get 1 tbsp Coriander leaves chopped
  17. Get 1/2 Cup Pomegranate

Curd rice is also known as thayir sadam or daddojanam or bagala bath in some South Indian languages. Curd rice also called yogurt rice, is a dish originating from India. The word "curd" in Indian English refers to unsweetened probiotic yogurt. It is most popular in the Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Steps to make Curd Rice:
  1. Cook rice and mash them. Keep aside.
  2. In tawa heat ghee. Once hot add mustard seeds, cumin seeds. Once mustard seeds splutter completely add channa dal and red chilli. Saute until channa dal fried crispy.
  3. Now add curry leaves, chopped ginger and green chilli. Now add chopped onion and saute until onion change light. Add hing. Now add broken cashews and raisins. Saute until cashews change to golden brown.
  4. Now add mashed rice, curd, milk and salt. Mix nicely until curd mix with rice thoroughly.
  5. Now add chopped coriander leaves and pomegranate. Serve immediately.

In the state of Tamil Nadu it is called thayir saadam, and in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh it is called daddojanam. In Karnataka, it is called mosaranna. Add salt and sugar and keep aside. Now heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and chana dal and wait till the dal turns light brown.
