The ingredients needed to make ๐ŸŠFresh Orange Jelly ๐ŸŠ:
  1. Make ready 400 ml fresh orange juice/store bought orange juice
  2. Prepare 2 1/4 tsp agar agar powder
  3. Take 50 gr rock sugar (adjust accordingly depends on the sourness of the oranges)
  4. Make ready 100 ml water

I haven't gotten around to the grapefruit jelly yet, but the lemon jelly was fantastic! It has a wonderful warm golden color (almost like honey), and the flavor retains the fresh lemon flavor but is tart and just sweet enough. Method: Pare the rind from the four oranges OR zest them if you like a textured jelly. Pour the lemon juice/water mixture over the orange slices and allow to stand overnight - or eight hours.

Instructions to make ๐ŸŠFresh Orange Jelly ๐ŸŠ:
  1. Cut the orange into half. Squeezed the juices out
  2. Remove the flesh and reserve the orange skin/โ€œshellโ€
  3. Boil 100 ml water with rock sugar and agar powder until the rock sugar melt. Keep stirring to avoid the sugar get burned at the base of the pot. If the mixture become too thick, add the orange juice bit by bit (do not pour all the orange juice as I donโ€™t want to destroy the vitamins in the juice)
  4. Once the rock sugar melts completely, and agar powder is cooked, off the fire and pour the remaining orange juice. Taste the mixture and if it is not sweet enough/still sour, feel free to add more caster sugar and mix until the sugar dissolve completely
  5. Pour the agar mixture to the orange shell
  6. Let it cool for few hour, keep in the fridge. Serve cold! So refreshing!

In the morning, or after eight hours, boil the oranges until soft. Place the orange juice concentrate, water, and pectin in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Once the mixture reaches a boil, add the sugar, and return to a simmer, stirring constantly. In a Dutch oven or large stockpot, combine water, orange juice concentrate and pectin.
